We use the armoire in our living room. It easily holds our 46 inch TV and cable box, media center computer and DVD player. It is nice to have all these components behind closed doors when not in use. However, when the doors are closed, there is not a lot of ventilation for these components that are always running. It would probably not be suitable for someone who has more components such as receiver, game consoles, etc.
Assembly considering it was a flat pack and heavy, was very straight forward and the instructions were very good. The main body of the cabinet comes pre-assembled with doors already attached. You basically just had to unfold the sides and attach the bottom, top, back and insert the shelf.
The doors swing smoothly and rest perfectly against the side of the armoire when in use. Overall, this is a very good quality piece of furniture.
